GradesCharacteristicsApplications
FP1Excellent mechanical and adequate electrical properties. Suitable for low tension non-humid properties.Battery eliminator (Transformer and Choke bobbins), Tube light ends and chokes, Control Panels, Condensers mountings, etc.
FP2Combination of good electrical and mechanical properties. Specially suitable for power electrical industry for use in oil.Transformer covers, C.B. Handles and side frame, Distribution Boards, Fuse holder base, etc.
FP3 & FP3(M)Excellent electrical and adequate mechanical properties. Low water absorption. Suitable for high tension electrical application even under tropical conditions. FP3(M) has added special synthetic resin layer, imparting excellent resistance to surface tracking and dry arching.Transformer and choke bobbins for power electronics, Relay spacers, HV transformer tap changers, Grid covers, Selector Bank insulation, etc. FP3(M) for switchgear insulating panels, crane panels, etc.
FP4Excellent electrical properties, maintained under humid conditions (very low water absorption), suitable for high frequency applications.Meter fuses, Wafers for band change switch, cross-bar switches, Insulation in X-Ray equipment, etc.

Heat

Although laminates are tested to a temperature of 180 degrees care should be taken to avoid prolonged exposure to high temperatures. Objects such as oven-hot pans and dishes should not be taken from direct heat and placed directly on the laminate. Burning cigarettes should never be left on the surface. This information will assist in ensuring that surfaces faced with poly grey high-pressure decorative laminate will give good service for many years.

Polish

Polish should not be applied to the surfaces, since it can lead to smearing and marking, particularly on horizontal surfaces.

Cleaning

Wipe with a damp cloth or a cloth dipped in mild detergent and water. Clean with washing powder or bleach.Use a melamine sponge with water and wipe but do not scrub too heavily, as that can cause changes in the sheen of HPL products.Remove with an organic solvent such as methylated spirits, acetone, benzene, and nail varnish remover.
